Fairy Treasures

Today Ryan and I went to the first of our Nature Classes at the West Rock Nature Center in New Haven. I had never been there and it was a great place. Our first session was with Justin the naturalist from Two Coyotees. He led the kids on a fairy hunt through the woods. The excitment of the kids was great to watch. He even brought along "fairy wine" and would leave a small drop for them whenever they spotted signs that the fairies had been there. Sometimes it was fairy dust, sometimes it was a fairy house. They also found notes left behind from the fairies and made their own fairy house for them. At the end of the walk the kids discovered that the fairies had left treasures behind as a thankyou for giving them some wine. The treasures are above and that is no ordinary penny, that is a lucky penny and a peice of sea glass. The kids had such a wonderful time, Ryan is looking forward to going again next week.

P.S. unfortunatly I forgot my camera and did not get any of the wonderful pictures for the blog - next week though!!
