Today my little girl turned 3. It seems like she has been in our lives forever , but it has oly been 3 short years. They have been wonderful and amazing. She truly brings joy to our lives. She has been talking about her birthday for months and when she woke this morning the first thing she said was "I'm 3" !!

Her little/big bro came in and wished her happy birthday and they headed out together to see what the Birthday fairies left her ...


She was more interested in the chocolates that the Easter Bunny left her ....


After looking over her birthday presents , we headed out to see if the Easter Bunny hid any eggs out side. Sure enough they found some..




After a birthday hike, Adeline put on her birthday dress and birthday crown , made a dandelion wish and we headed out for lunch and some beach/pool time

She was the only one brave enough to go in today. It was a bit on the chilly side and the water was pretty cold, but being 3 she doesn't mind these things!

Over at Grandma and Grandpa's we had our rainbow bridge ceremony and story. This was her first real ceremony and she really seemed to like it and loved crossing the "rainbow bridge"!



It was a wonderful birthday day! Little Adeline is tucked into her bed with her new birthday sheets and quilt! Happy Birthday !

Next week we will have her Party here at the house with believe it or not - pony rides!!! Yes, I have lost my mind -lol!

reconnecting

This morning I thought I would try something new. We headed out to the Arboretum for a morning walk and lessons. I thought that being in nature would help us focus and get somethings done. Well, it did not exactly work out like I planned (I am getting used to that with my two younger equally strong willed children -lol) We did have a nice time though.

I had been feeling like we were being so rushed all the time going from one thing to the next. So I decided to take a break from a lot of our homeschool group activities and just remember to be together - to slow down and breath through our day. It is amazing how many opportunities there are for homeschoolers, it is easy to become over scheduled ! I am not saying these activities are not important too - we are just picking and choosing now which leaves us more time to get out and explore.

I think we will try to have more mornings like these!

Birthday outfits preview

Our little Adeline will be turning 3 years old next weekend. So of course she needed a few new outfits to celebrate. This mama could not wait to see if they fit and my little girl was eager to please. : )

All fit and were very cute - now to hide them till next weekend!

Princess, Pirate Party

Headed out to a Pirate and Princess Birthday party this afternoon and had a great time

Farmers for the week

Our neighbors asked us to help out with their animals for the week and we were excited and happy to help. By animals I mean not only the standard family dog and cat, but goats, chickens and a horse!

The first night was total chaos - I had no idea of what I was doing and the animals were not quite sure who I was. Luckily I had Ryan with me who knew what to do and was a huge help this week. After that first night we came up with a plan and were able to feed everyone without the chaos.


By the end of the week even Adeline was feeling brave and not afraid of the chickens anymore. She collected all the eggs herself tonight all while dressed as a pirate princess. It must of been the eye patch that made her feel so brave!

Ryan has loved chickens since he was 5 years old and one day we will get our own chickens!! I am hoping this year will be our year.
He even volunteered to shovel out the chicken coop!

He was great help with the buck, leaping over the fence to give him his food. He was so at ease with the animals !
Ahh the goats - 6 does that needed to be fed in groups of 3. That was part of the chaos trying to get the right goats out of the pen to feed them . WE eventually got that right too : )
Blondie and Adeline hit it off



Very fun -- but now I realize that our house just needs a few chickens, a garden, and some bees.

Spring Time

With the first day of spring came summer weather here in the northeast part of Florida! I can understand why the snow birds come down this way and invade the beach - it has been beautiful here!

With the warm weather we have been heading out to the beach and pool alot which of course led to a new bathing suit for miss Adeline. Even Dodger had to get some water fun time !
His game is that while we are watering the garden he plays in the water : ) It does make it hard to water the garden, but it is oh so fun to watch him play.
