I had heard about this museum and we finally made it into Seattle to discover it. For being free, they did a great job and we learned alot. Seattle was a big hub for "stampeders" to head up to the Yukon in search of gold during the Klondike gold rush. So amazing the journey that those men and woman made.
Any stampeder heading to the Yukon had to carry a years worth of supplies with them!
It was interesting to find out that the creator of Nordstrom's department stores was one of the stampeders. John Nordstrom went to the Yukon eventually found gold and then sold his claim. After sailing back to Seattle he found a small business to open with a partner selling shoes. From there eventually the department store grew!

After the Gold Rush museum, we walked around and found the fire museum open and free! So we headed in to look around.
