My parents had decided to rent a house in the Florida Keys and when they asked if we would like to go - there was no need to ask twice! We packed up our bathing suits a few shirts and shorts and headed down south. One advantage of going somewhere where it is hot is very lightpacking cause really all you need is a bathing suit!
It was a grueling car ride but worth every minute of the drive once we got there.
Right outside of the Keys we stopped at an awesome fruit stand that served fresh homemade fruit milk shakes! Yumm. Plus they had a petting zoo- can't beat it.
Ahh - the Palm trees - we are getting closer...
We finally made it! This is the back view of the house. It is right on the canal and was such a great place to be.! We wasted no time at all getting right into vacation mode...

I for one was super excited to see a kayak at the house. I think we took it out for short rides everyday.
Tony and Ryan pretended they were Lewis and Clark finding a path to the Pacific Ocean. Finding coconuts along the way in the water and bringing them home.
Even my brave little girl got out there !!
Our first day and a half was great we ended with a sunset cruise and the anticipation of heading out to Looe Key's coral reef for scuba diving and snorkeling!
