A New Year!

A New Year - A New House!!! Yes, It is still hard to believe sometimes that we are home owners. We closed on this house the first weekend in Nov. and have been busy beavers since trying to get moved in and organized. Not to mention the holiday goodness at the same time! I feel that we are finally in a good spot with the house. Still lots of boxes to unpack - but that is what the garage is for!!! Yes - finally a garage to put all our unwanted junk that we must hold onto : )

The first glimpses of our home sweet home! I must say that I love our home. Not only do I love how quite and peaceful it is , we have wonderful neighbors who homeschool and are like-minded(aka - they don't think we are freaks ).

Our backyard - So much we want to do. A huge garden, chickens , sandbox, zip lines , forts, swings....
that's the fire pit over there in the corner. Lots of fun to be had roasting marshmellows.
This is the fence that surrounds part of our backyard
now if you go on the other side of the fence, you can see where Ryan has started to clear a trail. Eventually we will blaze a trail in the wooded part of our yard (aprox 1/2 acre). Our total lot is 1 acre - love that!!!
This is the view all the way towards the pback of the property. It extends to where the tall pines at the end are.

The living room! Tony did a great job painting the house before we moved in. I love the colors we picked out - just right for us.

The dining room - I eventually plan on making a tree branch chandelier - I will keep you posted on that.

Halloween

With halloween on a Sunday - we had plenty of time to prepare our costumes for the upcoming night.

Sage decided to be a gangster "money" man and stayed home to pass out the candy

I am sure you can tell who Ryan is. He has a new love of Star Wars - I am amazed at how much he knows without ever seeing a single movie.

Field trip #2 - Robot Factory and Art Museum

On Thursday we played hookey from our co-op and went on a homeschool tour of the Robot factory Sally Corp. Actually my mom went with the boys on the tour since they have a strict rule of no kids under 7! that means no Adeline and since my mom has been wanting to go, she took the day off from work and took the boys. They had a great time

When the tour was over I picked them up and we headed over to the Museum of Modern Art to check out the squares exhibit. WHen we went for opening night - the place was jammed pack! It was impossible to get up close. This time we had no trouble! There are about 400 squares back there. It is pretty cool to see. I have to admit I did not get to look to much as I was busy chasing Adeline making sure she did not cross the ropes and play with the art. But I was able to get glances
